Flag in the garage

There are new homes for sale in the neighborhood as of late. One house is on the corner of 80th and Taylor. I refer to it as the Mini Winchester Mystery House of Confederate Yore. The man who owns it is a bearded hippy appearing man who spends 80% of the year touring around in his Winnebago. Every few months, his Winnebago reappears, parked on top of the curb. Upon arriving home, he airs out his house and various additions and outbuildings (there are at least four). The most independent of these outbuildings is a garage type unit. Inside is a large confederate flag strewn across one of the walls. He leaves the garage doors open and on display for several hours.

A few times, my ex-husband noted it with an underlying comment about the poor composition of the neighborhood. Sure, I agree, this guy is an ass. But we have more or less okay neighbors. We have a couple outstanding ones, even. Still, this guy needs to go. He's asking under $300K so hopefully he'll be gone before the 4th of July.

Tonight on my dog walk, I noticed there were several burrowing holes leading underneath the porch of the Mini-Win, indicative of a family of rats taking residence. Trevor even had several burrow holes under his sidewalk on Taylor Street for months, so I guess it's not uncommon to ignore pestilence. He recently filled them in.

I'm on a little Frank Ocean whim. I like this guy. He isn't what you expect at all, however I have begun to expect consistently good music from him so I hope I haven't jinxed myself.
